Description

The biggest of the entelodont artiodactyls, they were known as Killer Pigs or Hell Pigs as they were mistakenly classified as members of Suina, hence the popular portrayal of these animals as giant warthogs. Recent research has placed them far closer to Whales and Hippopotami than pigs.

You might be right, but don't forget that large carnivores like polar bears and sea lions are furred and Carnivora is smack-dab in the middle of Laurasiatheria.  Entelodonts were far more closely related to the carnivores and fellow artiodactyls, than either were to bald Perissodactyls like rhinos, or even more divergent Afrotherians like elephants.

Of course it's all rampant speculation all round; but all the giant members of carnivora and artiodactyla, even in hot climates, retain their fur, and megafauna like woolly rhinos, mastodons and mammoths were heavily furred in their northern ranges.

So naked skin doesn't really match any of the other similar-sized, actively-hunting, meat-eating Laurasiatherians. Even Suina are fairly heavily furred in the wild.
